The Challenge
A 1990s galley kitchen that had been patched and updated piecemeal for years. The layout was inefficient, storage was insufficient, and the space felt closed off from the main living area.
Our Approach
We opened a load-bearing wall to connect the kitchen to the dining room, converting it to an L-shape with a central island. Function came first: an integrated pantry column, under-counter refrigeration drawers, and a professional 48" range. Aesthetics followed: white shaker cabinetry with warm oak open shelving, terracotta Zellige tile backsplash, unlacquered brass hardware, and honed Calacatta marble countertops.
The Result
A kitchen the family actually gathers in. The clients now host weekly dinner parties — something they said they never felt comfortable doing before. The project came in on budget and six days ahead of schedule.
